K9 NOSE WORK CLASS

K9 NOSE WORK CLASS – 2 hours

Nose Work classes are designed to develop your dog's natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and exercise. Geared for dogs of any size, shape, or age, this class is fun for your dog, will help to build your dog's confidence and also burns plenty of mental and physical energy. One dog at a time is worked while others are crated or kept separate behind a fence.

Class will be taught by Lisa Bataska, a Certified K9 Nose Work Instructor (CNWI). For Lisa’s biography and numerous credentials, please visit her website, http://www.pawsitive-solutions.com/

*Participants will need to bring a crate for your dog if you have one. Also you will need to bring your dog’s favorite treats and toys.

Minimum – 6 dogs
Maximum - 10 dogs
Cost: $30 per team

Foundations for Agility

Leslie Baumann, Instructor
Ages 5 months to 3 years.
Class limited to six dogs and handlers.

A new Foundations of Agility class session begins in January 2012. Leslie has a few openings for this popular class.

This class teaches a solid foundation of life skills for you and your dog to use all the time, not just in Agility training and competition.  Dogs should be able to sit when asked and walk on a leash without reacting towards other dogs or people. This is a training class to develop a better relationship with your dog, it is NOT an exercise class. This popular class has a maximum number of six teams. To enroll, or for more information, contact instructor Leslie Baumann at Leslie@greatdogstuff.com or 219-462-9520.

Course length: 8 weeks.  Price: $120

Canine Good Citizens

This is a "finishing" class for pet dog obedience. Most therapy dog programs start with the "CGC." In addition to basic manners at home and in the community, the CGC emphasizes confidence in social situations such as walking through crowds, reacting to friendly strangers, to other dogs, and to distractions such as loud noises or wheelchairs. An optional test is given at the end of this eight class session.

Class Duration: 8 weeks
Cost: $100

Doga = You + your dog + Yoga

This 1 hour class will be taught by Lori Estadt, a certified Yoga instructor from Asana Yoga Center in Valparaiso.  Classes will include massage, physical and meditation practice for humans and canines.  Please bring a mat and your dog on a leash.  No toys or treats in this class, please. The dogs love spending one-on-one time with their owners in this mellow class!

Cost:  For the session, $75   (Remainder of session = $15 per class)
Drop-in, $20 per class

Duration:  6 weeks
