This six week course covers basic manners and common behavior problems using force-free training techniques. Classes are designed to help owners build a positive relationship with their puppies as well as provide opportunities for socialization. Our system of rewards based training concentrates on teaching dogs how to make good choices and be responsive to their owners.  We believe all puppies deserve to get off on the right paw by learning a solid foundation of “life skills.” Our training exercises give you the tools you need to teach your puppy to be a good dog.

Foundation for Agility…and More

Leslie Baumann, Instructor
Ages 5 months to 3 years.
Class limited to six dogs and handlers.

All dogs, not just competition dogs, deserve to learn a solid foundation of “life skills.”  These skills not only help dogs focus in the highly charged atmosphere of an agility trial but they help them be successful in everyday life, too. Class instruction teaches dogs how to try new things and make good choices using force-free training exercises that will benefit a family dog as well as provide a foundation for on-going obedience, rally and agility classes. The goal is to help owners and dogs build trust and confidence in each other through consistency of expectations and rewards based training methods.  From this foundation, using the latest research in canine learning theory, students are given the tools to build a great relationship with their dogs.

Course length: 6 weeks.  Price: $90 non-members/$85 CCC members

Beginner Obedience Education

Linda Knol, Instructor
Why take Obedience Classes at Canine Country Club?
Specifically tailored for puppies over 5 months and adult dogs that have had no previous training. The goal of our Obedience Classes is to develop trustworthy behavior and manners for your dog in a variety of settings and situations. We work on developing a positive learning attitude for your dog by using positive reinforcement and "interrupt and redirect" techniques.  We’ll use these positive training techniques with rewards to begin teaching  “sit”,  “down”, “watch me”, “stay”, “come”, “leave it”, “let’s go” and “heel”.  After lessons are finished, students will come to understand how their dogs think and learn.

Course length: 6 weeks. Price: $80 non-members/$74 members
